Interest rates & gradation of risk

Faith Financials adopts a board-approved Interest Rate & Penal Charges Policy, framed under the RBI Master Directions (NBFC — Scale Based Regulation), 2023. The rate of interest on each loan is arrived at taking into account the cost of funds, operating cost, a reasonable margin and a risk premium determined by the gradation of risk of the borrower. Interest rates are annualised so that borrowers are aware of the exact rate that would be charged to the account.

ParticularsRange / Basis
Rate of interest — Low risk (annualised)7% – 21% p.a.
Rate of interest — Medium risk (annualised)7% – 24% p.a.
Rate of interest — High risk (annualised)7% – 28% p.a.
Benchmark (floating-rate loans)Prime Lending Rate (PLR), reviewed periodically by the Board
Processing & other chargesAs applicable to the facility — disclosed in the sanction letter and Key Fact Statement
Penal charges on default / delayNo penal interest on delayed payment. Penalty, if any, applies only to the overdue amount, is not capitalised, and is stated in bold in the loan agreement
Foreclosure / prepayment chargesAs per the loan agreement. Nil on floating-rate term loans to individual borrowers

The gradation of risk — and therefore the final rate offered — is assessed on factors including:

  • Borrower profile, repayment capacity and financial strength.
  • Credit and repayment history, and past conduct of accounts.
  • Nature, adequacy and value of the collateral or security offered.
  • Loan amount, tenure and structure of the facility.
  • Prevailing cost of funds and market conditions.
  • Sector / industry risk and the end-use of funds.

The interest rate applied is subject to negotiation and may differ from case to case. The full policy is available for download: Interest Rate & Penal Charges Policy (PDF)
